Now that we have spoken about how to get started juicing at home – With the best home juicer being the masticating Oscar, this thing can juice anything from Beetroot to Sweet Potato if you wanted – Let’s dive into some simple recipe ideas to get you started…
Since Winter is officially here and there’s no going back it seems only fitting to focus on immune boosting juices and smoothies to keep flu at bay. Ginger, ginger, ginger and more ginger is all I can say!!!! Ginger is a powerhouse spice and is often referred to as a natural antibiotic.
Immune Booster
(Makes 1 glass)
- 25 grams ginger
- 1 carrot
- ½ small pineapple
- Using a sharp knife cut away the skin from the pineapple, then half the pineapple and slice into a few chunks.
- Roughly chop the ginger and carrot
I personally prefer to leave the skin on for extra nutrients – as long as you have rinsed the veg thoroughly. If you are buying organic fruit and veg rinsing in plain water is fine however; if it isn’t organic I suggest rinsing your veg with a veg wash to ensure you remove pesticides. Earthsap do a lovely Fruit and Vegetable wash available on Faithful to Nature
Throw everything into the juicer and enjoy

And even though the next recipe is something a little bit colder it is still my favourite go to smoothie when I am in a rush.
Morning Power Smoothie (Inspired by Joyous Health)
- ½ cup almond milk
We use our Bliss Juicery Vanilla Almond Milk which is freshly homemade so not added preservatives or any other nasties
- A handful of baby spinach
- 1 small/medium banana
- 15ml hemp powder (or any other plant protein powder)
- 1/2 cup raspberries
- A thumb size chuck of ginger
Throw all the ingredients together either in a blender or Nutribullet. Blend till smoothie. Pour into a glass, sprinkle with some Chia Seeds and enjoy xx
